The Purpose of Church Building

In the church service today, a member gave a testimony of how he has been pleased to be part of the church ministry.

He then recounted how a Pastor in the USA told him that the Church is not the Building but the People, he further said ” is like standing in the middle of a garage and imagining your car parked in it” ;
This testimony really makes’ me to reflect on the purpose of church building; and why it is insignificant in his definition .

The church building is the most sacred visible representation of God in our worship, for Solomon build a landmark church in Jerusalem that was widely acclaimed in history of Humanity and God was pleased, for the church is Gods home on earth and we go to church not because of the people but to interact with God in his house, to share , praise, worship and be thankful for Gods daily protection and provision . So to say that the church is where we on individual bases pay our homage to our Lord because we believe when we are in the church we are in the presence of God.

Interacting with people of same faith gives us motivation but that is not the reason we go to church. For the church is not a social club , but a spiritually filled abode of God. Where we come to worship and receive blessing from God.

I do advise people to reflect and understand the purpose of why the attend or become a member of a Church.
