Parent – child relationship (Ephesian 6:1-4)(2 Samuel 18:19-33)

An old man took his phone to repair shop.Technician said, nothing is wrong with your phone and the old man sighed and said why does my children not call me again?

Pillars we can build to make a good father and child relationship;

Respect; Appreciate your parents. You never know what sacrifice  they went through for you. Express your appreciation by words and action.

Love your Parents; Treat them with loving care. For you will only know their value when you see their empty chair. Don’t despise them and be aggressive.

Rules without relationship result in rebellion and relationship without rules result in chaos. And relationship with rules result in respect.

Pillar2

Thankfulness is very important in a relationship as it shows an act of gratefulness, the parent must be thankful to their children when the do good to them and should not feel is an act of obligations and children are also to show the same level of thanks to create a balance.

Children are our second chance to have a great parent – child relationship.

Pillar3

Distance in relationship can affect the level of emotions and feelings.

Enmeshment: is a description of a relationship between two or more people.

Symptoms: Do not rock the boat, do not let us be shameful.

Dynamic distant; stay close but honoring privacy, two become one but not possessive.

Distant; No real relationship and separate emotion.

What is your favorite words for a great relationship; use those words to express your feelings towards your child.

There are no perfect parent and no perfect child but their is plenty of perfect moments along the way.
