Why we come to church every Sunday varies on individuals; some to worship God in truth and spirit, some because of the worship, preaching, pastor and others to socialise and catch up with old friends and make new one.
Do I need to be part of a church? Isn’t it enough to be a Christian that matters?
Apart from God there is no hope,life and love.
Apart from God their is no hostility: divisive and destructive
Think about your life before your marriage, career ,social life before Christ came into your life?
Is not about been a Christian for a long time is about experiencing Gods grace that will change your life as a Christian.
Rememberance keeps us humble and grateful, cherished and forgiven.
Church is a place to remember our identity with God with grace and without grace, in sin and in righteousness ,in sick and in health ,in poverty and in riches. For we all belong to God redeemed from our imperfections and made new in Christ Jesus through his blood that he shed on the cross of Calvary to unite humanity in one faith,peace and love.(14)
Jesus Christ represent the reconciliation of our old way of life to a new way of life, to the old way of worshipping with discrimination to an inclusive new way of worship.
Christians means the fullness of Christ and Church bring us closer to God and closer to one another, a place to grow our relationship with God and one another.
Some of the obstacles that hinder us are; selfishness ,pride,hurt,frustration and ignorance. For We are all Gods people the citizens of Gods kingdom on earth. The church is not only a place to believe but also to belong, build friendship and help each other to grow.
Vs.19; consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers , but fellow citizens with Gods people and also member of his household. Vs20; built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the Chief cornerstone Vs21; In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord Vs22. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his spirit.
The church should be the most exciting and thrilling place in the world , and if it’s not we are somehow or other quenching the spirit ( Charles Spurgeon)
If the church is central to Gods purcpose as seen in both history and gospel it must surely also be central to our lives . How can we take lightly what God takes seriously? How dare we push to the circumference what God has placed at the center?( John Stott)
